One of the Waunifor Cottages

If you want to enjoy some time away amongst beautiful surroundings, breathing the clean air of rural Wales, and learn new art and craft skills, then look no further than a Waunifor Tailor Made Crafty Break.
More than a craft course – escape to the country for a relaxing break. You will stay in three-star character accommodation, within beautiful grounds in an inspiring rural ecology -see what it's like here
More than a holiday – enjoy learning craft skills from an experienced tutor and give full expression to your creativity.

There is a basic human urge to be creative and actually physically make something. The exigencies of modern life often force us away from learning these kinds of skills and we don't get the chance to develop this aspect of ourselves.

an array of unique hand-crafted items

A craft activity break gives you the space to fulfil that part of you and to create an array of unique hand-crafted items. And if you are already a busy crafter it gives you the chance to get fresh ideas, try out new materials, add to your skills, exchange experiences with tutors and companions, and be free from work and domestic responsibilities to fully indulge your passion for crafts. See workshops for the varied range of crafts available at Waunifor.

There is a great satisfaction in being able to produce something attractive or useful (and often both!) with our own hands from basic materials, and it is something that we can ALL do. It's relaxing, it's fulfilling, it's interactive and it's fun. At Waunifor we have never found anyone who can't do it! Those with experience obviously thrive, but even the most novice, and those that claim to 'not be artistic' or 'not good with their hands' have all been surprised and delighted with what they can produce with a little help and encouragement to get started and a few useful tips along the way.

At Waunifor we place great importance on the surroundings and ecology for our craft workshops. Everything is taken at a leisurely pace: learn at your own speed whether on your own or with your family or group; spend time relaxing in the grounds; explore the local lanes and footpaths; visit the coast; or chill out in your cottage.

The new craft studio

The studio and six cottages are set within atmospheric grounds with a variety of gardens and natural areas. There is a pond and stream with abundant wildlife and a sunny walled garden and many paths through gardens, courtyards and wooded areas. You can book a cottage for a weekend, a mid-week break, or longer (see self catering holidays) and have as many craft sessions as you want during your holiday. (see tailor made)

The area around Waunifor has a very high proportion of artists and craft workers. The landscape is very inspiring: soft greens, lots of trees, abundant wildlife, a beautiful river valley, old stone buildings, all totally unspoilt and delightful to discover. Waunifor is just minutes away from the scenic river Teifi which apart from its artistic inspiration provides marvellous opportunity for walking, water sports, fishing, cycling and sight seeing at the pretty villages and quaint small towns along its banks.

Our nearest coast is Cardigan Bay with its award winning clean beaches, coastal footpath and delightful hidden coves. We're also within reach of the wide expansive beaches of Carmarthen Bay and glorious Pembrokeshire.
